A while back I posted Internet Explorer Download Problem: “Unable to open this Internet Site” about how Internet Explorer doesn’t behave properly if the MIME type is set properly. Shortly after I upgraded Firefox and discovered that they had changed the behaviour for Firefox and things broke. I was serving up an EXE with a… Continue reading MIME Type vs. Actual Type
What I Want in Computing Devices
I know what I want in computing devices, and it’s not available. Anywhere. Nobody makes it. But everybody wants it. Not just me. But talking about a bunch of specific and whatnot is just boring, and analogies and comparisons are much easier. So… I want… Apple Style Yes. As much as I utter loathe Apple… Continue reading What I Want in Computing Devices
Robosoft and PAD (Part 1): The PAD Spec
Perhaps we had better start from the beginning… Hopefully that helped to wake some people up from Zombie-land~! Speaking of which, I still have some wicked Rob Zombie concert pictures to upload. But that’s neither here nor there. You’re reading to find out about Robosoft and PAD and how it can help you promote your… Continue reading Robosoft and PAD (Part 1): The PAD Spec
Getting Feedback from Experts
The new site is near ready, so it was time to seek advice from some friends that are experts. I asked Nick Bradbury to help out and he got back to me with some excellent feedback. While I can’t immediately do everything on his list of things to improve, I’ve done some and the difference… Continue reading Getting Feedback from Experts
Using Robosoft from Ground Zero
I’m about to launch a new site. It’s almost ready and I’m just basically waiting for some feedback from a few trusted friends that are knowledgeable in the field. (Heck, they’re flat out top guns.) The site has zero traffic right now. None. Nadda. And as such, it has zero downloads and zero position in… Continue reading Using Robosoft from Ground Zero
Excercising Restraint to do that 20%
A friend of mine, Nick Longo, has an 80/20 rule. Get 80% done and release, then get that 20% done later. It’s hard to follow. It’s incredibly hard sometimes to exercise restraint in development. Yet again I have something I’d like to solve and I’ve thought of a wonderful way to solve the problem in… Continue reading Excercising Restraint to do that 20%
Internet Explorer Download Problem: “Unable to open this Internet Site”
Internet Explorer 7/8 throws an error when you pop a download through a meta refresh or iframe. The error message looks like this (I’ve blurred the domain as it’s not public yet): Searching around didn’t reveal anything of any particular use. Most “solutions” were for clients, which when you’re running a server, doesn’t help much.… Continue reading Internet Explorer Download Problem: “Unable to open this Internet Site”
Devil Driver Pictures at Soundwave
For a band I’d never heard of before, Devil Driver was pretty impressive. They exuded energy, rocked the stage hard and had a wicked presence. They got the crowd going wild. Their setlist in Sydney was: End Of The Line Not All Who Wander Are Lost Dead To Rights Clouds Over California I Could Care… Continue reading Devil Driver Pictures at Soundwave
Dimmu Borgir Pictures at Soundwave
Dimmu Borgir is one of those bands that I’d never heard before, until Soundwave. They ripped and put on a really good show. More than just music, they had massive stage presence. The guitarists got in on the act as well as you can see in the pictures below. I only saw a few songs… Continue reading Dimmu Borgir Pictures at Soundwave
Slayer Pictures from Melbourne Soundwave
Well, got to see Slayer here in Melbourne. They were pretty good. The only thing on the stage was an elevated drum kit and 2 massive walls of Marshal stacks. At one point early on, Tom walked up to the front of the stage and motioned for people in an area behind me to pick… Continue reading Slayer Pictures from Melbourne Soundwave
