So Deputy United States Marshal Criminal Investigator Maxime Vales (or one of his criminal cohorts) violated the TERM & CONDITIONS for the use of this site to view this (now password protected) page:

http://cynic.me/2014/10/24/silk-road-judge-doxxed-and-msm-lies-about-it/

He then contacted my Canadian hosting provider about it and had them take my site down today. (I’ve since gotten it back up, obviously!)

The post is about an Ars Technica article that falsely claims that this article (.onion link requires TOR) contains death threats against Katherine Bolan Forrest, who is the judge in the “Silk Road” case against Ross Ulbricht. There is no death threat in there. It’s not nice, but it isn’t a death threat either. Ars Technica lied.

For the sake of ease, completeness, and transparency (something that is completely foreign to government), I posted the entire unredacted, uncensored article (it’s not hard to find – more info below). This seems to have pissed off the US Marshals who sent this to my hosting provider:

Please be advised that the personal security of a United States Marshals Service protected person has been threatened by way of dox. United States District Court Judge Katherine Bolan Forrest’s restricted personal identifiable information, in violation of the Court Security Act of 2007 has been made public on the below listed website that is connected to GoDaddy as the sponsoring registrar. I am requesting that this restricted personal information be immediately removed from the website in order to ensure that no further threats to the security of Judge Forrest are carried out. I am also requesting that a representative from the legal department contact me as soon as possible regarding this sensitive matter.

This is nothing more than security theatre and scare-mongering. If anyone were to do anything to that judge, it would already have happened.

The original dox (.onion link requires TOR) link from the wiki site now returns a 404, but the dox archive (.onion link requires TOR) is still up, and the dox can be found here (.onion link requires TOR).

None of these things are difficult to find. Whether or not I publish the information is completely irrelevant to the security of the judge. Like, FFS… Justin Bieber has dox published (.onion link requires TOR), and he’s still alive!!! There are probably a lot more crazies out there that want him dead.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

I have made it explicitly clear that nobody in any government position is welcome at Cynic.me. That includes US marshals.

Unless Maxime Vales is psychic, I really have no clue how he could possibly abide by the T&C and know what was on that page, or any page at Cynic.me for that matter.

CENSORSHIP & CHILLING EFFECTS

There is no law against publishing publicly available information, which the information at the links above is.

This does nothing to protect the judge at all as I’ve outline above just how simple it is to find the information. A blog dedicated to technology, voluntaryism, and personal points of interest that has near zero readership except for a few popular posts isn’t going to make the smallest impact at all.

This is merely overreach and an attempt to scare me and others from publishing information that the US police state finds inconvenient.

If this can happen to me, it can happen to you. Whether or not you agree with anything I say isn’t particularly relevant. The point to free speech is to tolerate dissenting opinions.

HE SHOULD SIMPLY HAVE CONTACTED ME!

Maxime Vales is really a bit of a douche. Instead of contacting me and asking nicely, he went nuclear to have my site taken down.

But I most certainly would have taken it down had he just asked. Albeit, I would have to charge him a reasonable service fee. I think 144,341 bitcoins plus an additional 29,659 bitcoins as an “administrative fee” would be reasonable. (Ross certainly wouldn’t need to worry about paying for his defense anymore.)

WHAT TO DO?

Well, I certainly don’t want armed thugs harassing me for publishing publicly available information, so I’ve password protected the page for the moment. I’m a bit worried that the 8 character, lower case password might be easy to guess. Nah. I’m not worried. I’m sure it’s just fine.

If anyone has any good information, my ears are open.

DOUCHEBAGGERY

Now, I know that some people will say that it’s douchey to post dox information. Perhaps it is. But it’s more important to be open, transparent, and complete.

The point of my blog post was to point out blatant lies in the presstitute corporate-whore dinosaur lamestream media. They regular twist facts and often blatantly lie. This was one of those cases.

The issue was about a darkweb wiki post. I posted the entire article along with a link to it. Everything could be verified by checking my own post, and by checking the original.

You see, some of us out here actually believe in free speech (even speech that some people don’t like) and honesty, which we don’t get from the lamestream media.

I’m not interested in shining a flashlight on lies if I can shine a spotlight.

Remember:

THE FBI DOXED ROSS ULBRICHT FIRST!

Open Letter to My MP: Freedom is our nationality, and it’s not for sale

Given the recent events in Canada, I am emailing my MP with the following letter, and opening it up for anyone that would like to use it or part of it to email their own MP.

Hello Gary,

I am concerned about recent events causing hysteria and fostering bad ideas like “preventative measures” to detain people suspected of possibly doing something at some untold time in the future. I am equally concerned about the expanding security/surveillance state.

Our liberty is not on the negotiating table. Patrick Henry had a few good words to say about that. But we can look closer to home for thoughts on the topic.

Nothing will prevent me from continuing my task of PRESERVING AT ALL COST OUR CIVIL LIBERTY. – Wilfrid Laurier

Wilfrid Laurier phrased that using “at all cost” and not “at a ‘reasonable’ cost”. I believe that he was more than intelligent enough to know the difference, and that he was quite deliberate in that.

As long as there is a drop of blood in my body THEY WON’T STOP ME FROM TALKING ABOUT FREEDOM. – John Diefenbaker

Freedom and liberty do not take sides. Both Liberals (Wilfrid Laurier) and Progressive Conservatives (John Diefenbaker) have spoken out fiercely in defense of freedom in Canada.

We do not want Canada to dive into the same downward spiral that other “western democracies” have.

  • The United States of America has eviscerated its Constitution and Bill of Rights. Do we want to imitate them and watch things go south?
  • In the UK, David Cameron is trying to make thoughts he doesn’t agree with a crime, and has openly suggested re-education camps. Is going down that road one that will make Canadians happy campers?
  • Australia has criminalised journalism and free speech. Does Canada want to go down under with Australia?

I think the answer to these questions is clear. No. And a resounding NO. Why? Because…

Canada is free and FREEDOM IS ITS NATIONALITY. – Wilfrid Laurier

While ignoring people’s fundamental freedoms, liberties, and Natural Rights certainly makes many tasks much easier, that isn’t what Canada is about.

Certainly there are difficulties in not violating people’s freedoms, liberties, or Natural Rights, but simply because a job is difficult is no reason to strip people of those liberties. It is the job of government to protect and defend our liberty “at all cost”. Our liberty is not a bargaining chip; that a job is difficult is no reason to ask us to sacrifice even the tiniest amount of liberty.

If I may return to John Diefenbaker:

A Canada, united from Coast to Coast, wherein there will be freedom for the individual, freedom of enterprise and where there will be a Government which, in all its actions, will remain the servant and not the master of the people.

However difficult the job of the intelligence service, and however difficult the job of elected (or unelected) officials, that difficulty is no excuse to even think about asking Canadians to sacrifice any of their freedoms. It is our nationality. And it’s not for sale.

I do hope that you will consider the above, and take it with you as you perform your duties as a Minister to Parliament in Ottawa.

Respectfully,

Ryan Smyth
A fellow Canadian, Ontarian, and Cantabrigian

Biometric ID Rollout in Africa

While the ebola virus continues to devastate Western Africa, the rollout of biometric IDs is all but completely ignored in the media, but it could cause even greater devastation as the world marches towards a totalitarian surveillance police state.

Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana all have cards, while others are either in the process or have some form of biometrics in another area, e.g. banking security.

The following blog post by the Securiport company puts biometrics into perspective regarding ebola from the view point of a biometrics company.

Securiport Remains Committed to Mitigating Health Risks and Economic Impact of Ebola Virus in West Africa

This article on India contains an Excel file with information about different countries and their usage of biometrics. Categories include medical use, government ID, online banking & finance, etc.

Let’s Make a Citizen Out of You: The Rise of Biometric Identification in India

The following blurbs start with the country name, possibly a few words about the context of the article, and then the article title linked to the original article. The titles are pretty much enough to tell what’s going on for most.

That’s a decent list, but does not include biometric passports, which includes most countries in the world anyways and is completely uninteresting in comparison.

The main pushers are biometrics companies, financial institutions, banks, the IMF, United Nations, etc. You’ll see the usual suspects pop up again and again. If you read through many articles, you may have noticed that Dr Risco Mutelo came up repeatedly. Again, more industry shilling.

It seems like Africa is the testbed for biometric IDs for now. Expect the rollout elsewhere in the world shortly. Or rather, dread the rollout elsewhere.

Here’s an excellent comment on biometric identification:

Ebola Security in Liberian Ports

ebolaThe National Port Authority of Liberia is fighting hard against the ebola outbreak by requiring all people admitted to Liberian ports to wear long sleeves and long pants.

Really.

Public Service Announcement

Published on Sep 29, 2014

Thursday, September 25, 2014

The Management of the National Port Authority (NPA) is pleased to remind all Port Users, Investment Partners, Employees and the General Public in Particular, that anybody wearing sleeveless clothes will not be allowed access to its facilities.

The enforcement of these measures are in straight conformity to the full implementation of the preventive Ebola measures being observed throughout the premises of the four sea Ports of the Republic of Liberia.

You are therefore advised to take note and wear long pants/long sleeves shirts /blouses in compliance to this and all other measures required to grant you access to the ports.

The NPA management is firm on implementing all preventive measures to maintain absolute Zero tolerance to the Ebola Virus Disease at its facilities, and would not compromise the safety of the entire port and its surrounding to the killer disease.

Restrictions on visitation at the ports are also being observed and only those having important business engagements or official arrangements will be allowed access to the ports after he or she must have gone through the routine preventive procedures that have been put in place by the NPA Management.

Thanks for your usual understanding and cooperation as we endeavor to win the war against the deadly Ebola Virus in Liberia.

Signed
Malcolm W. Scott
Public Relations Manager/ NPA

Management/NPA-Liberia

It sounds like a few people were showing up in shorts & t-shirts.

Meanwhile, healthcare workers in full protective gear are still contracting ebola.

Um, good luck with the long sleeves and pants?

But to be fair, measures also include washing your hands.

Key amongst the NPA’s anti Ebola measures include: Compulsory temperature check at all entry points to the Port facilities; issuance of none Shore Passes, regular hand washing, reduction in the workforce and the establishment of a temporary Care Center at the Freeport of Monrovia.

A CDC delegation reportedly called the measures at Liberian ports “extreme preventative measures.”

Speaking during a visit at the Freeport of Monrovia Wednesday, the CDC delegation said the procedures being implemented by the NPA Management against the Ebola Virus are “ Extreme Preventive Measures” that are also in line with rigorous approaches in containing the disease.

But they’re also doing body temperature monitoring (has a comprehensive list of preventative measures):

•  Everybody including employees/contractors/casual workers entering the Port premises will be subjected to body temperature monitoring and or digital temperature testing;

Cleaning staff are also using gloves, surgical masks, and chlorine-based cleaners.

They are taking matters quite seriously though. Anyone showing symptoms of ebola is being treated as a probable case.

• Everyone coming in contact with a stevedore showing  symptoms of Ebola will be considered probable cases and treated as such;

So, while wearing long sleeves may seem like a band-aid on cancer, there are many other measures, including an emergency response team, and they are certainly trying very hard.

The NPA has also set up free storage for supplies to fight ebola donated by the Chinese government in August.

I started off with an alarmist joke about long sleeves in part to help draw attention and make a point: the seaports have largely been ignored in the news as airports are sexier (and faster), but these are critical points from which ebola can spread. Any sailing of less than 21 days should be suspect.

Pharma Marketing vs. Research Spending

Here’s a quick little tidbit: GSK’s “selling, general and administration” costs were over 2x what they spent on research. PDF of their annual report is here:

Pages 63 and 66. Here’s a relevant clip from page 63.

So, there you have it. Marketing is twice as important as research.

Unresponsive Touch on Android

At times you may encounter an unresponsive touch on your Android device.

This is not application specific. It happens in any application.

If this happens to you, simply turn your device off, then on again.

What happens is that for some reason your touch gets registered then it holds there. Subsequent touches don’t work properly, so you can’t zoom or do much.

This problem drills down to the API level in Android and then to the actual hardware.

The cause is perhaps some dirt or moisture on your finger, or it’s raining, or something else that contacts the surface of your device’s touch screen.

Just turn it off, then on again, and you should be good to go. If not, reboot. If you’re not happy there, then you have a different issue. Keep looking, and good luck! 🙂

Kefir, Kombucha, and a Fantastic Lady to Get it from in Melbourne

Posted by Cynic | Posted in Anarchism / Voluntaryism, Australia, Business, Melbourne | Posted on 29-08-2014

Being in the market for some healthier foods, I happened across a Gumtree ad:

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/camberwell/miscellaneous-goods/probiotic-starters-kombucha-water-kefir-milk-kefir-melb-p-u-/1038097067

Now, that’s likely to go stale, but you can still reach the lovely lady behind that here:

http://www.bbdfran.com/contact-bbdfran/

Or email her here:

bbdfran@gmail.com

She’s got a wonderful knowledge of kefir and kombucha, and I can’t help but gush at the level of customer service she offers. You will be hard pressed to find anyone offering what she does. I was quite stunned. Few people go that far. Companies? Very rarely.

If you are in Melbourne, and withing reasonable distance (Melbourne is about 100 km across), then look her up as she is a wonderful resource to purchase some kefir from.

She has a Facebook group for people that purchase from her, and it has a good amount of activity there with some great tips and information.

Now, that being said… with my background in software and business, I’d have to say that she’s got a really, really terrible business model. I don’t mean that as an insult though. To understand what I mean there, you need to know that the product she sells allows you to create your own kefir and kombucha virtually forever with no additional purchases necessary.

Gillette would roll in his grave at that.

But I suspect that Fran has different motivations than pure profit. I suspect that she is more motivated by a desire to help people and to see people increase their level of health.

Her level of dedication and honesty have earned a good deal of respect in my books.

If you’re in Melbourne, and if you are looking to increase your health, and if you appreciate stellar customer service, check out the links above. You’re looking for Fran.

Why do people video other people getting murdered?

0

Posted by Cynic | Posted in Police, Police State, States | Posted on 19-07-2014

Tags: , ,

It’s pretty common to see videos of people idly standing by while someone is murdered. Here’s just one recent example from PINAC:

http://photographyisnotacrime.com/2014/07/17/nypd-kill-man-video-breaks-fight/

There are about 10 cops hanging around while the poor fellow is murdered by cops.

What could anyone do to save him? If there were only 3 cops, someone might stand a chance. But what would they have to do? Pull the armed thugs off of the man? That wouldn’t end well.

About the only reasonable thing someone could do to save the man is to pull out a firearm and quickly kill each of the violent thugs. Given that they wear body armour, head shots would probably be a good idea. If you don’t get them quick enough, you are pretty much guaranteed that they’ll kill you. If you’re going to stop 1 of them, you need to stop them all. They’re pack animals.

But that would be the end of their life. Anyone who saved that man would be tracked down and punished with a demonic vengeance. Defending people against the state is not something that the state will ever tolerate.

With 10 violent gang members around, it’s unlikely that a single person could save that man.

I suppose that people video the cops murdering people in the hopes that the judicial system prosecutes them for murder. That doesn’t happen. But there is always hope.

European Central Bank Sets Negative Interest on Deposits Less Than 1 Week After Bilderberg Conference

European Central Banksters (criminals) logo

European Central Banksters (criminals) logo

The Bilderberg conference ended less than a week ago and now the European Central Bank (ECB) has set negative interest rates on deposits (0.1%). Here are a few articles on it:

  1. Draghi Takes ECB Deposit Rate Negative in Historic Move
  2. Bitcoin Price Turns Upwards with European Banking Negative Interest
  3. ECB imposes negative interest rate
  4. European Central Bank Institutes Negative Interest Rate

The 2014 Bilderberg conference ended on June 1st. The ECB was represented there by Benoît Coeuré, a member of the Executive Board of the ECB.

Coincidence? Well, for the negative interest rates to be set up, I’d imagine it would take them longer than 1 week. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had prepared it, taken it to Bilderberg and talked it over there to mitigate the sticker shock for keeping savings in the bank.

The amount of deposits by EU banks at the ECB is around EUR 29 billion (as pointed out by the Economic Policy Journal – link #4 above) while the Fed has trillions (#4).

So the question is whether or not this is simply a small, dry-run of negative interest rates on deposits to see if it will run under the radar well enough to implement on a larger scale, e.g. at the Fed or at commercial banks. We’ll see.

But either way, conspiracy or not, or dry-run or not, this is a seismic shift in the methodology and manner of flow of money through the banking system.

The practical side of this is that it now costs money to save money. i.e. It’s like having a paper cup with a hole in the bottom; if you’re thirsty, you’d better drink fast. Or in other words, the banksters are trying to destroy your ability to save.

Did you still need a reason to buy bitcoins? This is it. Get some of your money into bitcoins, because that is what the banksters can’t steal.

And that, kids, is what we call watching history in the making… (Not all history is good…)
